New fact sheet with a focus on sustainability

08.12.2020

We have a strong ambition about increasing transparency surrounding sustainable investment, and to that end we are now launching new fact sheets focusing on sustainability for all our equity and corporate bond funds.

According to Kenneth Styrbæk, ESG Manager at Jyske Capital, the fact sheets provide a better insight into the funds' key ESG figures and help our clients make an informed choice when investing. “It is actually a rather difficult exercise because there is no simple definition of sustainability. With the introduction of the EU taxonomy, I believe that we will come a long way in selected areas. But instead of waiting on our hands for a finished definition, we now go and present four elements to provide insights into how we work with sustainability”.

The sheets contain information on four parameters: ESG risk assessment, CO2 emissions, active ownership and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Kenneth Styrbæk assesses that the four parameters provide a solid and broad picture of the sustainability of our funds: “The ESG risk assessment is an obvious element to take into account. It summarizes the key ESG risks and their management for the companies in which we invest. It is an industry-specific assessment with added ongoing updates on controversial behavior. The latter could e.g. be environmental disasters, bribery cases, etc.

Next, we have chosen to highlight CO2 emissions. We both compare with the benchmark and add some everyday examples to translate the figures into something more tangible”.

The last two elements highlight the positive contribution from the investments. “With us, you help to influence the companies to change their behavior through collaboration with other investors, and we believe this actually makes a difference. Of course, the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals should also be included to show how companies contribute to a much broader sustainable agenda than the climate. "

Initially, there is ESG fact sheets on all Jyske Invest and Jyske Invest International equity funds. Access them on the webpage under the individual funds.
